A Short Message Service (SMS) Wambui Thiga received and read reluctantly thinking it a was from cons has changed her life — for good.
Wambui Thiga, battling fistula for two years, received an SMS about free screening and surgery. She underwent successful treatment at Embu Level Five Hospital, sponsored by Freedom from Fistula Foundation in partnership with Safaricom Foundation and Flying Doctors Society of Africa. The camp, in its third year, saw over 300 women participate. Another patient, Alice Kagendo, also shared her struggle with the condition since 2015.
