Nampaiyo Koriata, a human rights defender and anti-FGM champion, founded the Nampaiyo Koriata Fistula Trust to support girls and women suffering from fistula. After overcoming FGM and fistula herself, she now advocates for women’s health and rights. Her organization has linked over 300 survivors to corrective surgeries and received a grant from The Global Fund. Partnerships with various foundations have provided free surgeries, bringing hope to many women. Efforts to eliminate fistula continue, focusing on improving access to emergency obstetric care and treatment.
