Landing sites depend on:

  • Aircraft type
  • Airstrip condition and dimensions
  • Weather and clearance availability
  • Time of day

Night evacuations require clearances and a usable airstrip. If conditions—such as unstable political situations or unlit runways—hinder landing, FDSA will make every effort to proceed while respecting the pilot’s discretion.

An emergency is a serious and often sudden situation that threatens life and requires immediate action. For example, a bee sting causing airway obstruction is critical, unlike a sting on the foot with no serious reaction.

Typically, pre-flight checks take 30 to 45 minutes. However, this may vary if additional clearances or equipment are needed.

This depends on the aircraft type and destination. For specific details, please refer to our evacuation summary document.
